A fixture of the park from the
early 1900’s and completely rebuilt in 1935, the
Pavilion
(or more commonly referred to as Eagle Point Lodge) sits high on the bluffs
overlooking Lake Clinton. Built of stone, the rustic lodge offers many
wonderful amenities such as its large stone fireplaces, hardwood floors and
large picture windows overlooking Lake Clinton. The installation of Lock 13
formed Lake Clinton, the widest pool of the Mississippi, which is a haven
for bald eagles searching for food on the frozen river.
During the holiday season the
lodge becomes home to many events both of the
Symphony
of Lights and members of our community. Besides being used in conjunction
with the larger events of the Symphony of Lights, the Lodge is a home for
local non-profit groups to raise money during the holiday season and
provides a refuge from the chilly evenings by providing a warm seat and
concessions. The lodge is also available for private parties and has been
used for events such as Biz After Five and company Christmas parties.
